PARENT
VOLUNTEERS
Dear Parents,

Even in middle school parents are needed as volunteers.  In my classroom I need volunteers to
help file students work in their folders, assists in other paper work, to chaperon field trips,  help
students on the computer and with Power Point presentations.

But the BIGGEST thing I need is for you to ask your child questions: about how their day went,
(Don't accept "nothing"as an answer. Ask for details)
if they have homework,
(Don't accept "nothing"as an answer.
Check my homework page or call me at home)
who are their friends
(Meet them, take them on an outing with you,
these are the years that I have seen good kids get into trouble)
and what clubs are they interested it.
(Don't accept "nothing"as an answer.
Research show that students involved in extra-curriculum activities do better overall in school
and actually do better in college.)
I have found that parents actually need to be more involved in their teens life, not less.  The kids that
don't get into trouble are the ones who know their parents are standing behind them supporting them
and WATCHing them.

God Bless you and your family,
