CLASS BEHAVORIAL
PROCEDURES

   Basic Class Rules:

   1.  Once you enter the classroom, students WILL sit in their assigned seats, become
        QUIET and BEGIN class work.
Students WILL be in your seat and writing in your
"Thinking Journal" before the class bell rings.

   2.
Students WILL NOT talk while the teacher or a class presenter is talking.

   3.  Students WILL NOT participate in any harmful (physical, emotional, mental) behavior to
yourself or to others in the classroom.  This includes joking, teasing, or playing around in                  class.

   4.  Students WILL bring to class daily all books and supplies necessary for a productive day.

   5.  Students WILL NOT leave their seats until the teacher has dismissed the class.
REMEMBER, the teacher dismisses the class, not the class bell.

   6.  NO personal grooming during class time.

   Consequences if not followed:

As a teacher this is the least favorite aspect of teaching, but unfortunately it is an aspect that yearly                proves itself
necessary.

Any student whose behavior disrupts the learning of another student or who breaks school or class
rules will encounter the following consequences.

Four Conduct Marks Equal One 9-week Conduct Grade Drop.

   1. A general warning and/or a conference with the teacher.
(This is only for minor offenses.) One Conduct Mark for Each Warning.

2. Written or verbal parental notification. Two Conduct Marks for Each Notification.
*These is given after the student has had multiple in-class chances to improve behavior.

3. Student is sent to study hall (C.S.I. - Center for Special Instruction). One Conduct Grade
    Cut for Each Visit.

   4. A parent/teacher/student conference.

   5. Referral to an administrator.

Bathroom Procedures:
Bathroom and water breaks are to be done only during lab activities, NOT while class
   instruction is being given.

Students MUST ask the teacher, upon approval the student may take a bathroom pass
and go to the bathroom/water fountain.

It is my suggestion that you come in and drop off your book bag, let me know you are
going to the bathroom.  Since there is now five minutes between classes, you should not be late to                 class, but in
case of emergencies I expect you to miss only the first minute (NOT MINUTES) of class.

This privilege is not to be abused.
